APRIL NEWS FROM PIGNON
Journal of the month of April 2023
We thank you for your frank collaboration through the various requests submitted by Loving Haiti for the benefit of the Pignonaise community that you share.
We are back with the aim of helping you get some idea about the functionality of people in Haiti, specifically the people of the city of Pignon. Wanting to remind you that it is a monthly newspaper. You will sometimes have things repeated and that sometimes will not be registered (especially those that are the most common / daily such as the scarcity of fuel, food products, building materials) knowing that a 0.1% increase changes everything but which, in other words will not take all time in reading.
This said city depends on the Hôpital Bienfaisance de Pignon as a motor to health followed by other centers. Medical workers do not stop giving themselves in order to support the entire population and often other people coming from different and remote areas to keep their health as it should be. These health institutions open their doors daily to serve this community. Knowing all the difficulties, they try to increase or adjust the price of services rendered which quite often prevents people in case of need from facing anything.
The political crisis is getting worse and worse, especially in the West Department of the country more specifically in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti considered as Haiti especially internationally. The belief of our society varies from second to second whether intellectual, idiotic or other grows, rises and lives every day with a purely critical spirit that does not seek to negotiate or use other strategies to lead a better life because according to the new data on the radio, bandits invade inhabited houses, the properties were forced to leave the place, they also lived in those whose owners do not live in Haiti of their own volition.
No consideration for his behavior towards ourselves. Living in a troubled society where not everyone knows what to do is a devastating scourge. The program of the current US President, Mr. Biden “Humanitarian Word” concerns the majority of the Haitian population or many of them do not hold any passport justifying their travel after analysis and confirmation from USCIS. It should be noted that to obtain a passport at this time, it is necessary to have at least 60.000.00 gdes in national currency or 370.00 US dollars and no delay is provided for its receipt that is to say there is a lot of doubt about it.
Through the 10 departments of Haiti we do not trust that all educational institutions operate especially in Port-au-Prince where it is the bandits who decide, who lead (knowing the statements of journalists in the various radio programs) but education remains and remains the priority key in the success of any society. We believe in and advocate a better future with our tireless intellectuals. Schools operate normally in the town of Pignon. They are in their second round of examination since several of them do 3 and others 4 tests that will contribute to the transition from one class to another for the academic year. These schools are working according to the schedule submitted by the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training which should end in August 2023 and the new academic year will begin in October 2023. Parents, guardians do not deviate from academic difficulties (payment of schooling, purchase of school materials, daily transportation of the student to arrive at the establishment on time remains a challenge to overcome. The journeys are difficult because of the scarcity of fuel, the age of the vehicles (motorcycle) in addition, the high cost of life every day.
Economically no one can respond to any situation that suddenly appears. On the contrary, the big merchants cannot decide on the price fixing of products since during his trip for the purchase, they pay unwanted amounts to the bandits to let go of their truck. So, for this purpose, these merchants only have to increase the price of products to make a profit. We see that our Haitian entrepreneurs should be the best possible strategists as they resist and seek to meet the demands of customers (consumers).
Today through the streets we pay 1500.00 gourdes for a gallon of gasoline and 1200.00 gourdes for one (1) gallon of diesel. No gas pump has while all trucks carry fuel. These very trucks create other fuel sales sites everywhere instead of delivering them to gas pumps. Fuel scarcity has been the most profitable economic activity for more than a year.
It was with you, Darling Seriphin, Manager, computer scientist, graphic designer for these beautiful lines.
NB: Thank you for your daily generosity. God guards, protects and bless you more.
