Abby and Denny’s First Trip to Haiti in 2011

– Celebrating Our First 10 Years –
Wow! Has the Loving Haiti story already been 10 years in the making? Yes it has, and we’re going to flash back during the next 10 newsletters celebrating life well loved by God and our Loving Haiti Donors and Partnerships beginning with 2011. The side photo features Abby and Denny Bain, founders of Loving Haiti, on their first trip to Haiti as guests of Pastor & Madam Francois, who live in the township of Pignon.
Abby and Denny’s friends Kaylan & Travis had traveled to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake. While in Pignon, they told Abby and Denny about Pastor Francois and his Children’s Home, encouraging them to come down to see and be a part of what God was doing. Although circumstances prevented Abby and Denny from going in 2010, they continued to correspond with Pastor and Madam Francois over the next year, praying for opportunities to serve and one day travel to Pignon, Haiti.
In the Spring of 2011, the opportunity finally arrived for Abby and Denny to fly to Haiti where they met face to face with Pastor & Madam Francois, saw the work they were doing, and fell in love with the kids from the Children’s Home as well as with the community of Pignon. Who would have known that the two girls they were holding in the above picture would later be the two sisters that they would adopt into their family?
But let’s not get too far ahead of this story line, as there’s much more to share about the goodness of God and how He invited Abby and Denny to join Him in His work of Loving Haiti. The idea of love or charity, working publicly alongside of Haitians in their country, in partnership with Pastor & Madam Francois was the seed that brought fruit to this now public charity – Loving Haiti.
