Thank you for being a member of our community
This Valentine’s Day, we say “thank you” to everyone in our Loving Haiti community. Without you, nothing we do would be possible. If you’d like to get more involved in our volunteer, micro-loan, ambassador or monthly donor program make sure to visit and explore our new website!
Micro-Loans to Macro-Celebrations
Our first micro-loan was issued in July 2014 to a young Haitian man, Darling Seriphin. Darling worked with us as a language translator and sought our financial help to start a copy/office supply business. His goals were to finance his way through college and support his widowed mom and siblings.
Darling was able to finance his education, receiving a B.S. degree in Business Management in 2017! His goals after graduation were simply to: 1) grow the business, 2) contribute to the economic development of Pignon and 3) afford to marry his lovely fiancée Yolette and start their family.
Despite the hardship of the Covid-19 economy, Darling and Yolette celebrated their wedding December 1, 2020!
Loving Haiti continues to work with Darling, supporting him through micro-loans and macro-celebrations!

Independence Day Celebration!
In addition to the New Year, Haitians celebrate January 1 as their Independence Day. The day, which commemorates Haiti’s declaration of independence from France in 1804, is celebrated with fireworks, dancing, special foods and parties. Thanks to one of our generous donors, the kids in the children’s home were able to have an extra- special celebration this year!
