Celebrating Our First 10 Years! 2011 – 2021

Pastor and Madam Francois
Hello,
My name is Mark Bell. I’m the current president of Loving Haiti. The above left photo of me and some of the kids of the Children’s Home was taken February 2012 in Pignon, Haiti, at the campus of Pastor & Madam Francois. This was my first trip to Haiti, going solo for 50 days. I titled it in my blog series, “Relentless for Haiti”. These 50 days covered the Christian Calendar period of Lent. As I reflect upon the Goodness of God over the years, and in His infinite wisdom how He called me to join Him in His work in Haiti, I’m still amazed by His grace and truth! I never, ever had Haiti on my heart, mind, emotions or actions before 2011, and yet here I am Loving Haiti as God loves us.
I recently started re-reading my blogs from my first trip to Haiti as a way of looking back to my now present-future. Through these blogs I’m reminded how sometimes Breakdowns come before Breakthroughs in our lives, and how the Lord worked during those 50 days breaking my heart for what breaks His! Through these breakdowns, I learned how to give people, places, and things the same attention as God gives. And through the breakthroughs, I learned how to believe, think, feel, do and say, “Not my will but thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” These breakthroughs of finding our real life come only after the breakdowns of losing our life for the sake of Christ. During that Lent period I learned how to deny myself, take up my cross daily and follow Christ wherever He led me through His Spirit. Take a BREAK with me and journey back to my first trip to Haiti through my blogs, where you may Breakdown in tears and Breakthrough with joy!
